Sarah Geronimo (\jə-ˈrä-nə-ˌmō\ born Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo; July 25, 1988) is a Filipino singer, actress and television personality. She has established a career in the Philippine entertainment industry, and is cited in the media as one of the most popular Filipino celebrities. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, Manila, Geronimo started to receive attention after winning a singing contest on television in 2003. She came to prominence after releasing her debut album Popstar: A Dream Come True in the same year; it went multiplatinum and won two Awit Awards. Under the music label Viva Records, she continued success in the music industry through her albums and concerts. In 2010, Geronimo received the Aliw Award for Entertainer of the Year. In 2012, the Philippine Association of the Record Industry awarded the Best Selling Album of the Year to her eighth studio album, One Heart (2011). Geronimo's music was for a time distinguished as Pop until the release of the albums Expressions (2013) and Perfectly Imperfect (2014), when she experimented on R&B and Dance. Subsequently, her 2013 single "Ikot-Ikot" won the Awit Award for Best R&B Recording.
